★ Biography:

Hails from the Sasaki clan in Hokkaido, he comes from a rather traditional family with a lineage relating to samurai nobles. He is anything but noble air however. Despite the conservative upbringing, being the middle child meant being overlooked most of his life and he often rebels to get some attention, pretty much a black sheep of the Sasaki family. His father had once threatened to cast him out of the clan for his misdemeanor and questionable acts by associating himself with gang members. Daisuke dropped out of school before starting senior year and left his home.


It took him two years and narrow misses with the gun to finally realise how badly his situation was and how much he had fallen. It took quite a while for him to reconcile with his father and elder brother but his mother pitied him. After recuperating for few years, he picked himself up again to be a better person in society.

His interest in mythology has been ingrained in him since boyhood, particularly from listening to old folk stories from his grandparents while at temples. His family was highly superstitious as well and Daisuke had a curiosity thirst that was hard to satisfy by mere stories and he read about such mysteries on his own. It was a natural course of action that he took up this topic as his main focus as he returns from the depths. After all, if you got lost, then you should go back to the thing you love the most.

He had to spend quite some time in catching up with the studies, that he had abandoned in highschool in order to take the examination to enter university. It was another few more years before he finally graduated with his degree, probably the most proudest moment in his life. He took up teaching as it seemed like the logical way to help kids to learn not to go down the path he went in his young life and it was a natural extension of his being.

★ Additional Info:

- Has an older brother who is strict and rigid; currently the head of the household back in Hokkaido. Younger sister lives in Tokyo with her own family.

- Wears a rainbow scarf during the colder weather days because it was a gift from his niece and he had promised to wear it.

- Lives in an apartment on his own and returns to Hokkaido during the longer breaks (or goes down to Kyoto to bother a certain teacher)

- Smokes

- Skilled in street brawling.

- Skilled in swordsmanship due to being pressed into learning it from a young age by family (tradition of a samurai family)

- Plays baseball with neighbourhood kids and is a big fan of the games. Prefers to bat.

- Highly energetic in the morning and evening but is rather lazy in the afternoon (after lunch especially)
